A useful first task starts with an outcome you can recognize. Instead of asking an agent to improve an entire app, pick one change and describe how you will know it works.
Describe the outcome
Name the page or feature, explain the change, and include the behavior you want to keep. For example, ask for a keyboard-accessible dark theme control on the settings page, while preserving the existing form.
Discuss before building
Use Plan mode when you want to discuss the approach before project files change. Ask the agent what it needs to know, answer its questions, and read the proposed plan. Approve it when the scope matches your intent.
Review the work in your project
- Read the diff and confirm that the change stays within the task.
- Run the relevant checks and try the behavior yourself.
- Ask for a focused fix when a result does not match the plan.
A passing check is useful evidence, but it does not replace your review of the result. Keep the task small enough that you can understand what changed.
