Getting started

Install HarumAI, sign in, connect a model provider and give the agent its first task.

This guide takes you from downloading HarumAI to starting your first task.

1. Install and sign in

Download the installer for Windows from the download section and run it. The Installation page covers checking the file and the SmartScreen prompt. When HarumAI opens, sign in with your HarumAI account.

2. Connect a model provider

Open Settings, Providers, choose a provider (OpenRouter, 9Router and OmniRoute, HarumAI Gateway, OpenAI or Anthropic) and paste your API key. Then pick the model the agent should use. See Model providers and keys for details.

3. Open a project

Open the folder of the project you want to work on. Review the access and permission settings for your workspace.

4. Give it a task

Describe what you want in the chat, as you would to a colleague: “add a dark theme toggle to the settings page” or “find why the login test fails”. The agent reads the code, says what it plans to do, and starts working.

5. Stay in charge

  • Commands can appear on an approval card, depending on your permission settings. Approve or refuse the request, or allow that kind of command from then on.
  • Edits appear as diffs, file by file. You can undo a turn when its files have not changed since.
  • Stop ends the turn and any command it started.

For larger changes, start in Plan mode: the agent reads and writes a plan without touching a file, and builds only after you approve it. See Modes.
