Choose Local or Cloud

Understand where HarumAI keeps conversations, how to choose a backend, and what your model provider still receives.

HarumAI gives you a choice of backend at the top of the IDE window. That choice determines where the conversation and its runs are kept. It is separate from the model provider you choose.

Local: conversations on your computer

Local runs the HarumAI engine on your computer and keeps conversations in a database there. Use Settings, Backend Engine to manage it. A conversation created on Local stays on Local.

Cloud: conversations with your account

Cloud keeps conversations with your HarumAI account, so you can open them on another device when you sign in. Conversations created on one backend are not automatically moved to the other.

Your model provider is a separate choice

Choosing Local does not mean every model runs offline. Requests still go to the provider and model endpoint you configure. Review the provider's terms and the information you choose to include in a task.
